Amanda has worked at Carilion Clinic throughout her nursing and education career. She was a bedside nurse for 5 years in the vascular progressive and intensive care units. She has worked in nursing education for the last 7.5 years with the last 5 being dedicated to simulation-based education. She is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and has developed several highly successful simulation-based educational programs, mentored fellow simulationists, and presented at local, regional and national conferences. She finished her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Nursing Education in December of 2020. She has largely developed the nursing simulation curriculum at Carilion Clinic and currently facilitates the majority of the adult nursing simulation-based education experiences at the organization.
