Melinda J. Jamil
Biography
Melinda has more than 15 years of experience in human factors research and user-centered design across industries including health technology, in-vehicle transportation safety and aviation. She manages the human factors program at Advocate Aurora Health, the 10th largest not-for-profit, integrated health system in the US with hospitals across Illinois and Wisconsin. In this role, she works with clinical engineers, patient safety managers, simulation specialists, and clinical team members to investigate potential system issues and identify improvements. Outcomes include redesigning technology, environments and processes to improve patient and team members' safety, effectiveness and well-being. Melinda has a BS with Honors in Design and Environmental Analysis with a concentration in Human Factors and Ergonomics from Cornell University, MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Human Factors and Ergonomics Engineering program, from Virginia Tech.
