Dr. Wayne Zachary is a researcher/technologist/entrepreneur with multidisciplinary training in social/cognitive anthropology and computer science. His research has focused on both sides of the collaboration across these disciplines — modeling human cognition and social behavior in computational terms, and using social/cognitive science knowledge and methods to design interactive computational applications. That research has occurred in application domains including national defense, aerospace, telecommunications and most recently healthcare and public health. His current work focuses on using participatory design methods to develop mobile health applications for underserved and marginalized populations.
