Sonja Fulmer is Assistant Director for Digital Health Policy in the Division of Digital Health (DDH) in the Office of Strategic Partnerships and Technology Innovation (OST), Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). In this role, Dr. Fulmer works to help DDH advance and implement new policy approaches to medical device software and digital health technologies to better promote and protect public health. Before joining the DDH in 2020, Dr. Fulmer joined the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) in 2014 as an AIMBE Scholar to pursue her interest in science policy after earning her undergraduate degree in Chemistry, with a Biochemistry concentration, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and her doctorate in Chemical and Physical Biology from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Fulmer has held several policy-focused positions in the Office of the Center Director and later as a Policy Advisor in the Office of Policy.
