Marlene is a computer science professional with more than 11 years of experience in the industry and academic settings. She pursued an MS in Information Technology degree at the University of Melbourne in Australia. She is passionate about improving people's communication, health, and independence through technology. This has been a constant motivation for her from early on in her career. Marlene is working with Dr. Mary Pietrowicz at the Applied Research Institute on software analytics for predicting mental health conditions. This project is expected to explore computational processing tools that can help to screen for the presence of clinical anxiety and/or depression based on speech, language, movement, and wearable sensor data.
