Mary M. Michaels is a Principal User Experience Researcher at Elsevier, where she conducts research into various aspects of usability regarding nursing and health education. She was formerly Global Director of Training and Certification for Human Factors International, where she also served as UX Strategist and consulted on a wide variety of industry projects. Ms. Michaels has more than 20 years of experience in the field of User-Centered Design, has served as treasurer of the NYC User Experience Professionals Association, and has presented at several UX conferences. She has always been interested in making it easier for people to use technology, and is passionate about helping organizations better understand their end users. Ms. Michaels is a Certified Usability Analyst (CUA), Certified User Experience Analyst (CXA), and has a Customer Experience Certificate from Rutgers University. She holds an M.B.A. from Philadelphia University, and a B.F.A. from The Maryland Institute, College of Art.
