Dr. Nelson is Research Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine & Public Health and a member of the Vanderbilt Clinical Informatics Center. Dr. Nelson is a psychologist whose research is grounded in self-care promotion for type 2 diabetes and technology- and community- based health interventions for underserved populations. She has extensive experience assessing usability, measuring and promoting user engagement, and evaluating the efficacy of several technology-delivered health interventions for diabetes, including both mobile- and web-based. Dr. Nelson’s current research is focused on using implementation science to effectively integrate mHealth interventions in routine clinical care.
