Rebecca (Becky) Lamis, PharmD, FISMP is a Medication Safety Analyst at the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), a non-profit organization devoted entirely to medication error prevention. She is also the Project Coordinator for ISMP’s for-profit subsidiary, Medication Safety Board, which works with the pharmaceutical and other healthcare industries to provide various consulting services related to the safe use of drug products and medication-related devices and technology.

Becky first joined ISMP in 2009 as an ISMP Safe Medication Management Fellow. Following the completion of her fellowship in 2010, Becky has assisted with the development and review of various medication safety tools, resources, and publications, including ISMP’s Medication Safety Self Assessments. Her work also includes coordinating orientation and other activities associated with the ISMP fellowship program, as well as participation in onsite risk assessments at healthcare facilities as needed. Since 2019, Becky has served as the Project Coordinator for Medication Safety Board and works with the pharmaceutical and other healthcare industries to manage client projects, including for medication packaging/labeling design and evaluation, risk assessments of proposed products, and other safety consulting services.

Becky came to ISMP and Medication Safety Board from Wesley Medical Center, an acute care teaching hospital located in Wichita, Kansas, where she completed a pharmacy practice residency. During her residency she gained valuable clinical experience in optimizing medication therapy and providing care to both adult and pediatric patients. She also conducted research and received training in grantsmanship and medication safety. Becky received a BA in Biology and Spanish from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, and her PharmD from the University of Iowa in May of 2008.
