Taylor has an undergraduate degree in Public Health from Brock University and is now pursuing her Masters of Science in Health Service Research from the University of Toronto’s Institute of Health Policy Management and Evaluation (IHPME). She is currently working under the supervision of Patricia Trbvoich, who leads HumanEra, an applied human factors research team based at the University of Toronto and North York General Hospital. Her thesis uses data from the Operating Room Black Box, an operating room data recorder which captures information about the non-technical performance of the surgical team. Specifically, she is studying how teamwork impacts the surgical team during moments of uncertainty in the OR, with a hope to provide insights that can lead to optimal surgical practice and improved safety for both staff and patients.
